Protect Hippo with Face ID, Touch ID or a password

Hippo can contain sensitive information. You can keep your information from prying eyes by locking the app. This makes the app only accesible to you via Face ID, Touch ID or your phone's passcode.

This is a built-in feature in iOS 18 and later.

Lock an app on iPhone

To lock Hippo, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the home screen
  2. Find Hippo
  3. Press your finger on the app icon until the quick-actions menu opens
  4. Tap 'Require Face ID' (or 'Require Touch ID' or 'Ask for code')
  5. Tap it again and authenticate using Face ID (or Touch ID or your passcode)

You can also chose to "Hide and require Face ID" for even more privacy.
